November is going to be an emotional time. A chance card, if you will.

No, we’re not talking about the U.S presidential election. We’re talking about Monopoly.

During November, Hasbro is fielding their latest iteration of Monopoly to the public, in the name of democracy and all that is good and fair in the board game world.

Monopoly lovers around the world are being asked to vote for their favourite Australian locations in order to win naming rights on the new, property-worshipping board game.

In the interest of ensuring another ‘Boaty McBoatface‘ incident dare not arise, the location options have been determined by the board-game giant, which is frankly unfair.

After all, Australia is the country that brought us such rude place names as Dicks Knob, Balls Creek and Shag Island.

Voting opens on Nov. 1.

The internet’s vote will determine not only which locations are included but also how each state will rank on the board.

The state with the most votes will be awarded the coveted dark blue position. The one that, as soon as someone puts down a hotel on, all other players fly into a spontaneous rage.

All of Australia’s six states and two territories have allocated spots, with 40 locations competing for the final cut of 22 positions on board.

Monopoly Australia have also crafted a real time leader board, updated daily to show which region is on its way to Mayfair-esque domination.

There will also be location-specific community chest cards for a peak Aussie #relatable experience.

Voting will be live via Monopoly Australia from Nov. 1. with the democratically-chosen game due for release in July 2017.

Vote, and let your voice be heard! Australia is counting on you. Don’t screw it up.
