A man has been charged with the murder of a father who was found tied up in a County Durham house.
The 18-year-old was one of six people arrested after Mark Shaw, 29, was discovered by a passing police beat officer in Grange Villa, near Chester-le-Street, on Saturday.
Mr Shaw, known as “Sharkey”, had been beaten and had a single stab wound.
The charged man is expected to appear at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court later. A second suspect remains in custody.
An 18-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed until the end of February.
The father of an 11-year-old boy, Mr Shaw was found in a bedroom at the house in Pine Street, where he lived.
No-one else was in the property at the time.
