Having your own pool is what success is all about for some people. Still, before building one in your yard, there are several things that you need to consider.

  • Deciding on the size: First thing you need to do when choosing the pool for your yard is to measure it up. Needless to say, sometimes, even with best intentions you simply won’t have enough room for the pool you intended to install. Luckily, there is always a better alternative since both lap pools and kidney shaped pools take significantly less space.
  • Choosing the type: As for the type of the pool here again you will have to choose based on the size of your yard and your intentions towards using it. For example, you might need pool for exercise purposes, for relaxation or even just a decorative pool. Needless to say, there is no best choice here, only best choice for you personally.
  • The choice of material: When it comes to the material, this is mostly up to your budget. Your least expensive option is to go with concrete. Unfortunately, concrete is prone to erosion and as such perhaps not an ideal choice. More efficient alternative would be to go for fiberglass or vinyl for the choice of your pool, but when it comes to which of the two is better, opinions are divided. While fiberglass is cheaper to maintain, vinyl is cheaper to install. Still this is only the tip of the iceberg.
  • Deck or no deck: Another choice that you will have in front of you will be whether to install a deck or not and if yes, concrete, stone or wood. Although deck has both its practical and visual advantages, it requires a lot of additional work, and more space. Still, this can easily be resolved by going for the aforementioned kidney shaped design of pool. In the end however, the choice is all yours.

Since going to spa several times a week seems out of option, your only option would be to get your own. Luckily, there are different types of spas that can be installed into your backyard.

  • Choosing the size: Unlike with pools, it is indeed hard to imagine a yard where you cannot fit a spa. Still, in order to be completely functional spa doesn’t need to be big. So, what you need to do is decide how many people are going to use this spa at once and you will know exactly how big you need to get.
  • Deciding on the type: Now, when it comes to the type, here things get a bit more complicated. The choice you will have is quite wide, from the basic hot tubs to those with massagers and rotating jets. All you need to decide now are two things. What kind of spa you want and how much are you willing to spend on it.
